holden stayed up for a little while after sunny left and then he heard a knock on his door. when he opened it he came to find that is was sunny and the guy from the elevator wanting more money. when holden refuses the guy pins holden while sunny takes the money from his pocket. then holden gets hit in the stomach and they leave.
i think that if it was that late holden shouldn't have ever opened the door in the first place.
